Leeds 25th

Experiential Design

For the 25th Anniversary of the naming of the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder, I worked with the Leeds Marketing and Advancement teams to create an interactive display highlighting the history of the school. This was installed at the Leeds 25th Anniversary Celebration on October 1st, 2026.

Design & Build

To bring this project to life, I started by programming a Raspberry Pi that I wired to a rotary encoder. Each click of the encoder would play a video file. Using a Python script, when the Raspberry Pi is powered on, it will automatically launch a VLC playlist allowing for easy set up during the event and no maintenance by the event team.

I also 3D printed a custom knob for the project using the Leeds 25 logo maintaining brand consistency throughout the event's experience.

Working with Erik Jeffries, we also created a shell for the monitor that resembled a retro TV. This allowed the RaspberryPi to be mounted to the installation, hiding away cables, and creating a more intuitive experience for the event attendees.

You can find the project files on my Github.

I wanted to extend a thank you to the Leeds Advancement team, Nikki Luth, Carolyn Gleason, and John Helmers for letting me experiment, to Erik Jeffries, Claire Stewart, and Inna Korikhman for allowing me to collaborate with the team and create, and finally to the Leeds Family who's gift made this possible.
